Laura's Art Shoppe is situated in the quaint and historic town of Cobalt, Ontario, Canada — the Town that Silver Built.
As an artist this town always appealed to me because of the winding streets, many of them extremely narrow, the little houses that seemed to be built upon every little outcrop that was available during the silver rush, and of course the remaining headframes from the glory days of mining.
What better place to find an art shop! In it you will find me hard at work: custom framing, stretching needleworks, or even creating my own works of art. I have been doing custom framing for over 20 years now, and have worked up a reputation of having the best selection of frames and an eye to complement each art piece in the best way possible. My customers go away satisfied.
I enjoy doing commissioned art pieces and giving workshops in watercolour, mixed media and basic drawing.
Complementing my own work, I have some of the most accomplished artists and artisans in the region! Everything from painting to sculpture, stained glass and pottery will be here for your choosing. I also have a fine selection of handmade cards and reproduction prints depicting the beautiful area of Temiskaming, and more. For that very special something — this is the place to come and shop.
We will have ‘featured artist’ days that will give the visitor a chance to meet and become familiar with each artist in his or her own light!
