Carmen Cantin was born in Rouyn-Noranda where she discovered a strong interest in art at a young age. She did painting and clay sculpture, and learned the art of pottery in 1978.
In 1989, she began studying the art of stained glass with various instructors in Florida. She discovered fusing while attending a glass convention in Kissimmee, Florida, in 1992. She never stops improving her technique and attends regular workshops with international instructors.
Carmen loves to experiment ¨off the beaten paths¨, creating pieces with unique colors and textures. She often uses dichroïc glass in order to obtain pieces that will reflect light and iridescence.
She is an active member of the TPBC in Haileybury and of the Artouche in Ville-Marie. Her artwork is exhibited in various galeries and shops in Ontario and Québec.
Carmen’s art work never goes unnoticed!
